1- Offer an incentive for responding quickly
“Come in to Joe’s diner today between 4pm and 7pm and get a FREE appetizer with the purchase of any dinner menu item!”
This will encourage those who receive your text alert to respond quickly. Make sure not to send a message out like this too late or too early. Sending this message out too early, and customers may forget about the offer or sending the message out too late and you risk losing the offer to another business.
2- Announce anything new about your business or service
“Joe’s Gym has a new morning yoga class, and all new dumbbells! FREE Protein shakes today from 6-9am!”
Announcing new equipment at your gym or facility, and any small free giveaway you can give to your customers once in awhile, will help attract people who have may have been absent. People are also more apt to tell friends and family about the deals and offers they are getting too!
3- Create a text to win contest to create loyal customers
“Respond with the word FREE and enter to win a FREE manicure! Must redeem by end of month! Winner will be sent message at 3pm today!”
This would be great for spas or salons to offer something for free to attract new customers. Remember, just because someone signs up on your text list, doesn’t guarantee they will become a customer. It’s a great start, meaning they have showed interest, but some people sign up out of curiosity, and it’s our job as marketer’s to convince them they need our services or sales!

1-Remember to put your company name at the beginning or end of your text message so people know who is sending them a message.
2- Use abbreviations to keep your message short but make it easy to read.
3- If you change or update contact info, or website, send a link in your text message to notify your customers.
