If you are using a mobile text alerts service to market to your customers, then I hope you would take into consideration these ways to improve or build upon your communication strategies with your customers so you keep those subscribers happy, and continue to retain growth month after month and year after year! After all, a business that isn’t growing, is dying….Or so they say.
Mobile Text Alerts Strategy #1: Consistency
Make sure that you are consistent with sending out your mobile text alerts to your customers. I am on a few text alert lists, and I get random messages every month and it almost frustrates me as a customer. When you are random, it can sometimes come across as desperate, or unorganized. Now there is a time and a place for those random messages, but make sure that you mix them in with a consistent text alert marketing strategy. For example, if you are a Pastor who likes to send out sermon updates, then make sure you send it out around the same time every week on the same day. Your congregation will get used to those messages and start looking forward to them. We will talk about the other do’s and don’t coming up.
Mobile Text Alerts Strategy #2: Timing
Take into consideration your market, your consumer, and your location. Be careful not to send out messages too early in the morning, or too late at night. Now there are exceptions to every rule, but if you stop and do some research, you will be able to determine the best time and more importantly, the most effective time to send out those text alerts to your customers. Here is a good example, if you are a restaurant who just added a new dinner menu item, focus on the best day, and time to send that message. Monday morning would probably be a bad idea. Think about when people are planning to eat out and what time they are most likely going to be thinking about what to do for dinner! Maybe Thursday or Friday around 3 or 4 pm. Don’t let the customer forget about your message by sending it out too early. Read my full review of Mobile Text Alerts and see why I rank this company as a top choice for your SMS marketing service.
Mobile Text Alerts Strategy #3: Call To Action
If you are trying to sell something or creating an offer, make sure you put a call to action in your text alert! If you don’t, you are losing out on a huge percentage of people who would otherwise make a purchase. If you make it too confusing or make the customer work too hard for the deal, they won’t bother. I know many of the text marketing services that I review offer mobile coupons. Even sign up widgets that would work well for directing customers to a landing page through a CALL TO ACTION link in your text alert.
